Definition:

• Number of people living below the international poverty line of US$1.9 (PPP) per day refers to population living on less than $1.90 per day in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms.
• International Poverty Line: This is a benchmark set by the World Bank to identify extreme poverty globally. It's currently set at $1.90 per day, adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP).
• PPP (Purchasing Power Parity): This adjusts prices to account for the relative cost of living in different countries. For example, $1.9 might buy a lot more in a country with a low cost of living than in a country with a high cost of living.
