Definition:

  • Proportion of education facilities affected by disaster refers to proportion of schools or any other buildings that provide education services, that are damaged or destroyed by natural disasters or hazards. The impact of disasters on education facilities can range from minor damage to complete destruction. Even minor damage can disrupt education services for weeks or months, as repairs are made. In some cases, schools may be destroyed, leaving students and teachers without a place to learn.
