Definition:

  • Percentage of children age 12-23 months who received Measles vaccine refers to proportion of children in that age group who have gotten at least one dose of a measles-containing vaccine.
  • This statistic is a key indicator used by UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO) to track measles immunization coverage and assess the effectiveness of childhood vaccination programs. Higher coverage rates translate to better herd immunity and lower chances of measles outbreaks
