Prevalence of wasting in children under age 5

Definition:

  • Prevalence of stunting in children under age 5 refers to proportion of children under 5 years old who are too thin for their height.
  • Wasting is is a form of malnutrition that causes a child to be too thin for their height. It is often caused by a lack of sufficient intake of nutrients or by infectious diseases.
